Setup or Adjust Time Settings in the UltraNEXUS-HD Servers via the Clock, or NTP

Instruction to set up or adjust the time settings for the UltraNEXUS-HD servers. These apply to the UltraNEXUS-HD, UltraNEXUS-HD X2, X5, Flex, Cast, and Blade servers.

There are several ways for the UltraNEXUS-HD to keep time. It can use its internal clock, set to a public NTP (Network Time Protocol) server, or set to your own desired NTP server.

Notes on Using NTP:

  • The default setting is a public NTP server
    • When it's set to "0.0.0.0" – that tells it to use the public NTP pool service at "0.us.pool.ntp.org".
      • A common service that directs it to the closest public NTP server.
  • It will default to its internal clock if it's unable to communicate with the set NTP server.
  • NTP access uses network UDP port 123.
