How to Factory Reset the NEXUS or UltraNEXUS

If you have forgotten or lost the password to your NEXUS or UltraNEXUS unit, you can reset to its factory defaults.

Note: A factory reset will clear all network addresses and users from the system. Be sure to backup any data such as slides, overlays, and schedule files before executing these steps. Also, make a note of the IP address, subnet mask and gateway as these will be reset as well.

Follow the instructions below to perform a NEXUS/UltraNEXUS factory reset. Afterward, the admin password will be restored to the last six digits of the unit's serial number. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the back of the unit or on the front display (press the up arrow until it displays the serial number).

1. Power off the server by pressing the front panel left and right arrow buttons simultaneously.
2. Power on the server by pressing the front panel left and right arrow buttons simultaneously.
3. Immediately press and hold the up arrow for approximately 20 - 25 seconds until the factory reset menu appears.
4. At the factory reset menu, press the left arrow button to perform a Save Opts reset.

DO NOT EXECUTE A FULL MEMORY CLEAR!

5. Quickly follow the prompts to complete the reset.
6. If successful, the server will reboot.

After boot-up, the NEXUS/UltraNEXUS will have its network addresses cleared and the admin password restored to the last six digits of the serial number. You will need to put in the IP, subnet, and gateway addresses again using the front panel config menu.
