How to Firmware Update your NEXUS or UltraNEXUS

The steps to firmware update your NEXUS or UltraNEXUS unit.

  1. Download the firmware LPF file from our downloads page at  https://www.leightronix.com/downloads. Make sure to select the proper file for the NEXUS/UltraNEXUS servers.
  2. Log in to the WinLGX software with a user that has administrative rights (the admin user). Go to the Tools menu and select Controller to open the Controller window.
  3. In the Controller window, there will be a Firmware Update section. Click the browse button to locate the firmware LPF file saved on your computer, and select it.
  4. Now click the Update button,  you will be asked to confirm. The firmware file will now transfer to the NEXUS/UltraNEXUS and then reboot the unit.

NOTE:

  • You will be disconnected from the unit and will not be able to connect until the firmware update is complete.
  • Programming will not be able to run during the firmware update. If you have an external input to run, switch your output to that before the update. It will pass that signal through.
  • The firmware update will take about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • The front display will show the unit running through all the files for the update and will reboot on its own.
  • When the date and time reappear on the front panel, the update is done.
