How to Manually Play a Video File

If you need to manually play a file for testing purposes or in a pinch, here's how you can do it from the WinLGX software's Control Panel window.

Note: Manually playing a file will interrupt any currently playing file or slideshow if played on the MPEG player that goes out to your channel.

  1. In the WinLGX software, go to the Tools menu and select the Control Panel option. This will open the Control Panel window.
  2. Select the MPEG Player icon associated with your channel (in most cases MPEG Player 1) from the Devices column on the right side.
  3. Make sure the MPEG 1 input is selected for the top switch row for Out 1.
  4. To queue up a file to play, click the ellipses (three-dot button) to the right of Queued Video File. The MPEG Player 1 icon, Queued Video File button, and  MPEG 1 input button are shown below circled in red:

  5. This will open the Storage window and list the video files.
  6. Select the desired video file and click the Ok button. This will show the file in the Queued Video File area.
  7. You can have the file loop continuous by checking the Loop checkbox to the right of the Play button before pressing Play.
  8. To start playback of the queued file, click the Audio/Video Play button near the center top of the player interface. The file should interrupt anything else that might be playing and appear in the Current Video File section, and the timer for the file should begin to progress as the file plays.

The file will play to the end, or if the loop box was checked, it would repeatedly play until the next scheduled event, or the stop button (to the left of the play button) is clicked.
