How to retrieve and search the UltraNEXUS-HD Events Logs to troubleshoot an issue you may be having.
- In the WinLGX software go to the File menu and select Get Log.
- In the window that opens, select the All tab at the top.
- Here you will see several event logs listed containing the following: events.log, events.log.0, events.log.1, events.log.2, events.log.3, and events.log.4.
- The events.log will have the most recent events. The other logs will have older events starting with the events.log.0 having the newest and the events.log.4 having the oldest events.
- The logging system will not go back indefinitely, there will only ever be the six events logs. Once the current events.log file reaches a size of 4.88 MB, the other event logs are renamed to the next events.log name, overwriting that log. (IE: events.log.0 becomes events.log.1 and so forth). The current events.log is renamed to events.log.0 and a new events.log file is created.
- Select the desired log file.
- Under Filter Presets, Click the Raw Data (no filter) button.
- Click OK, and a save window will open. You may save the file in the default location on your PC, or choose your desired location.
- The file should open automatically using Notepad.
You can search the log using Notepad’s search function (CTRL+F). This is a list of suggested words to search for when looking for issues: warn, err, fail, or exception. You can also search by a video file's name.
