No Stream From IncodeX Stream

If your live stream from your IncodeX Stream fails, here are some things to check.

The first thing to try is to power it off by using the power switch on the back of the IncodeX Stream, unplug it from power for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it back on. Wait for two to three minutes and see if the stream starts.

If power cycling doesn't work, check the status of the LED lights on the front panel of the IncodeX Stream.

Is the Red Power Light Off?

If the red light is off, then you'll need to find out why the unit is not getting power.

  • Check that the power switch on the back of the IncodeX Stream is set to on.
  • Check the power cable. Replace it if it is suspect. Also, make sure it is securely plugged into the IncodeX Stream.
  • Check that the power outlet is working.

Is the Green Active Light Blinking Slowly?

A slow blinking (every 10 seconds) active light indicates there is no video signal or an incompatible video signal present on the chosen input.

Confirm the video cable connected to the back of IncodeX Stream has a video signal.

  • Connect that cable to a monitor to test.
  • Check that its source device is working.

Make sure that the video cable is connected to the correct input.

  • Composite or SDI video needs to go to the proper, labeled connection on the back of the IncodeX Stream.

Make sure the video format is compatible.

  • SDI input can be 480i, 720p or 1080i.
    • It cannot be 3G (1080p60)
    • It cannot be 4K
  • Composite input needs to be Analog NTSC 720 x 480.

Make sure the VieBit input is set to the correct input type.

The IncodeX Streams video and audio settings are configured on the VieBit website.

  1. Log into your VieBit account and go to Site Administration*.
  2. Go to the Live Streams page.
  3. Click the Edit button for the IncodeX Stream.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. Make sure the Video Source and Audio Source are correct.
  6. If you need to make changes, be sure and click the Save button and also click the Save button in the second window.

Is the Green Active Light Blinking Fast?

A fast blinking active light means there are issues with the network connection.

  • Check the lights on the ethernet port on the back of the IncodeX Stream.
    • Are the lights on the Ethernet port on?
    • If not, try rebooting. (Turn the power switch off on the back of the IncodeX Stream, wait 30 secs, then turn it back on.)
    • Ensure the other end of the network cable is connected to the correct switch or router.
  • Verify that the switch or router is working properly.
  • Verify your network has internet access.
  • Check with your IT department to see if there have been changes to your network. If that is the case, your IT department may need to provide you with a new IP, subnet, and gateway address for the IncodeX Stream and/or adjust firewall settings (see the manual for how to change IP settings).
  • Check with your IT department about firewall issues blocking the IncodeX Stream's outbound internet access (see Port and Firewall Issues section below).

Is the Green Active Light on Solid?

A solid green light is good and means the IncodeX Stream is working and sending out a stream, but if you are still not seeing a stream at your VieBit site, check the following:

Check that the Encode Status is not Disabled in VieBit.

  1. Log into your VieBit account and go to Site Administration*.
  2. Go to the Live Streams page.
  3. Click the Edit button for your IncodeX Stream.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. In the settings window, make sure the Encode Status is set to Enabled.
  6. If you need to change it to Enabled, be sure and click the Save button and then the Save button in the second window.

Check that your VieBit subscription is valid.

  1. Log into your VieBit account and go to Site Administration*.
  2. Go to the Account Status page.
  3. The Live Streaming Service expiration date should be listed on the bottom left box.
  4. Contact LEIGHTRONIX Sales if you need to renew your subscription.

Make sure the correct firmware is running in the IncodeX Stream.

Check Port and Firewall issues section below.
