UltraNEXUS-HD Series Video File Formats

Here is a list of the 4 video file formats and their specs the UltraNEXUS-HD series servers can play.

UltraNEXUS-HD File Formats:

MPEG-4 (.mp4)(This is the recommended format)

Video codec: H.264 HIGH profile, up to level 4.0
  • 1920 x 1080 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)
  • 1280 x 720 (59.94, 60 fps, progressive)
  • 720 x 480 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)
Constant or variable video bit rate encoding up to 10 Mb/s (CBR or VBR)
Chroma sampling: 4:2:0
Audio format: AAC
  • 128 kb/s, 192 kb/s
  • 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz

MPEG-2 Program stream (.mpg)

Video codec: MPEG-2 program stream, MAIN profile, MAIN or HIGH level
  • 1920 x 1080 (29.97 fps, interlaced or progressive)(NOT recommended)
  • 1280 x 720 (59.94 fps, progressive)(NOT recommended)
  • 720 x 480 (29.97 fps, interlaced)
  • 352 x 480 (29.97 fps, interlaced)
Constant or variable video bit rate encoding up to 15 Mb/s - without closed captions. Up to 10 Mb/s with closed captions.
Chroma sampling: 4:2:0
Audio format: Layer-2
  • 128 kb/s, 192 kb/s, 224 kb/s, 256 kb/s
  • 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz 

MPEG-2 Transport stream (.m2t)

Video codec: H.264 HIGH profile, up to level 4.0
  • 1920 x 1080 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)
  • 1280 x 720 (59.94, 60 fps, progressive)
  • 720 x 480 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)
Constant or variable video bit rate encoding up to 10 Mb/s

Audio format: AAC or Layer-2
  • AAC-LC 128 kb/s, 192 kb/s
  • Layer-2 128 kb/s, 192 kb/s, 224 kb/s, 256 kb/s
  • 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz

 MOV (.mov)

 Video codec: H.264 HIGH profile, up to level 4.0
  • 1920 x 1080 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)

  • 720 x 480 (29.97, 30 fps, interlaced or progressive)

File names may contain up to 27 alpha-numeric characters (no spaces or symbols).
