NEXUS/UltraNEXUS/E-HD2 Free Space Reading at Zero

If deleting files from the Storage Manager doesn’t reflect more free space or continues reading 0 free space, the following are steps to correct it.

This only applies to NEXUS, UltraNEXUS, UltraNEXUS-SDI, and E-HD2 servers.

  • If the drive gets full, it tends to corrupt the FAT table data.
  • It can be corrected with the steps below.
  • It's recommended not to let the drive get full to avoid this issue in the future.

Disk Diagnostic Scan

The NEXUS may be able to correct it with its Disk Diagnostic scan.

  • See the instructions in the "Steps to Run a Storage Drive Disk Diagnostic Scan" tutorial linked here:

  • After the scan, log back into the WebNEXUS web interface Dashboard page or the WinLGX Storage Manager and check the free space.
  • If the free space issue hasn't been corrected, you'll need to move the hard drive to a Windows PC for a more aggressive scan using Windows chkdsk scan.

Windows Scan of Hard Drive

The Windows chkdsk scan should correct the free space error.
